Marine LED searchlights for cargo ships and sea-going vessels

JNLED supplies LED searchlights for cargo ships, tankers, bulk carriers and the harbour tugs that work alongside them. A sea-going fixture has to hold its output through salt air, engine vibration and long periods between yard access, so we specify it that way: LED packages from Philips Lumileds and Nichia with Mean Well drivers, and a housing, sealing line and beam specified for the mounting position. Across the catalogue, ingress protection runs from IP65 to IP68 and rated life from 50,000 to 100,000 hours. The searchlights are built to order, so we confirm the figures for your position against your drawing. Beam angle is customisable and the head rotates continuously, so one searchlight covers navigation, mooring and search work.

What we build into a sea-going searchlight

A searchlight on a merchant vessel is working equipment. It has to pick out an unlit buoy, hold a man overboard in the beam, light a pilot ladder in a swell, and keep doing it after months of salt, vibration and temperature cycling.

We build to that duty rather than adapting a shore fitting. Key lines run on our own moulds, so the housing, sealing line and mounting can be changed for your deck instead of worked around. LED packages come from Philips Lumileds and Nichia with Mean Well drivers. We buy direct from the chip, driver and coating suppliers, so a change of LED, driver or coating stays inside our own supply chain.

Across the catalogue, specifications are published per product: power in watts, lumen output, efficacy in lm/W, IP rating, beam angle, CCT, IK rating, voltage and warranty. Ingress protection runs from IP65 to IP68 and rated life from 50,000 to 100,000 hours, depending on the line. The searchlights themselves are built to order and specified against your drawing, so confirm the figures for your position with us before they go into a submittal.

Lower electrical load
LED draws up to 70% less energy than the traditional lighting it replaces, which shows up as generator load and fuel burned. Efficacy reaches up to around 100 lm/W, quoted per product. LEDs also contain no mercury, so end-of-life handling is simpler than with discharge lamps.

Light where the watch needs it
Focused output for night navigation, harbour approach, berthing, cargo work and man-overboard search. Beam angle is customisable, so the same fixture can be built as a tight searching beam or as a wider working flood.

Longer intervals between interventions
Rated life across the LED range runs from 50,000 to 100,000 hours. Relamping a searchlight means working at height on a moving vessel, so fewer changes is a safety result before it is a cost result.

Tolerance of vibration, shock and water
No filament and no arc tube to fail. Ingress protection across the catalogue runs from IP65 to IP68, with IK ratings published per product where the line carries one. Tell us the mounting position and the exposure it sees and we will confirm the housing and the rating for it.

Picking out unlit buoys, small craft and floating debris ahead of the ship at night.
Port approach, locks and berthing
Lighting quay edges, bollards, fairleads and line handlers while manoeuvring and making fast.

The marine searchlight range

Single lamp 180 W
One head, continuous rotation, customisable beam angle. Specified for ocean-going ships, river vessels and harbour tugs, and for search and rescue, port and lock entry, and loading and unloading work.
Double 200 W
Twin-head version for positions that need more output from a single mounting.
Double 380 W
Twin head at higher output, in the same format as the 200 W.
Wand double 600 W
Twin head at 600 W, the highest output in the published range.
Standard housing colours
Black RAL 9011, white RAL 9016 and grey RAL 9006.
Built to order
If the published range does not match the position, send the requirement and we come back with a drawing. Own moulds on key lines make housing and mounting changes practical, and new standard lines usually start as a customer’s special.

JNLED was founded in 2010 and is headquartered in Hong Kong. We work from the specification through to the fixtures on deck.

Send the vessel, the space or the lux target and our engineers return a light-simulation report showing the levels you will get, plus a cost-saving calculation against your existing lighting. From there we cover project design, production, logistics including customs clearance and warehousing, and installation support, and we ship worldwide.

Hong Kong keeps us close to the factories in South China around Shenzhen, so work on a housing, an optic or a full OEM programme is developed in collaboration rather than by email. We buy direct from the chip, driver and coating suppliers and hold our own moulds on key lines, which makes a change to housing, optic or driver a production decision rather than a search for another supplier. Warranty terms are confirmed with the quotation.
