LED searchlights for cruise ships and ferries
JNLED supplies LED searchlights for cruise ships and ferries, along with the deck floodlighting and linear lighting that works alongside them. Passenger vessels run tight port turnarounds and long service hours, so a fitting has to reach full output the moment it is switched on and hold that output through the season. Our marine range is built on Philips Lumileds and Nichia LEDs with Mean Well drivers. Housings across the catalogue are specified from IP65 to IP68, and rated life runs between 50,000 and 100,000 hours depending on the product. We have manufactured from Hong Kong since 2010 and ship worldwide.
Five things a searchlight has to do on a passenger vessel
Passenger operations put a specific set of demands on a light fitting. These are the five we design and specify against.
Where the light is needed on cruise ships and ferries
Passenger vessels carry a wide mix of lighting duties. Searchlights cover navigation and safety: hazard identification from the bridge wings, man-overboard search, pilot and tender boarding, and the approach into unlit or partly lit berths. Deck floodlighting covers the working side of a turnaround, including mooring stations, ro-ro ramps, vehicle deck approaches and gangway areas, all of which crew and passengers use at the same time and which need even coverage without hard shadows. Interior and open-deck areas use linear lighting, where consistent colour temperature between decks and between sister ships usually matters as much as the light level. We can quote the searchlights alone or the full lighting scope for a vessel.

Support from specification through installation
Send us the vessel and we will come back with a specification
Tell us the vessel type, the mounting positions you need to cover, the supply voltage and what is fitted today. We will come back with product options, a light simulation and a cost comparison.
